This sculpture was made of clay fired at OCA. in the 80s a time when the design department was  making a big imprint on the school. The ceramics department fell under design  no figurative stuff was allowed  pass the slop buckets. This piece managed to get through, maybe because the instructors could not see the head.  Stuff comming out of the kiln was always a surprise, if you were adventures you never got the same thing twice. I was interested in melting the clay, letting it droop, remember elasticman in the fantastic 4 comics!! there you go. Such freedom in percise control.  They never allowed that so I would imagine it by developing breaks in the sculpture deliberatly leaving part out . call them AIR . (anything imaginable replacement)   The Knee bone could be connected to the mother board and one day the next screen on a computer will not be called a page . Around graduation time I received a credit for ceramics III , a none existing course! thats a fact not a AIR.
